The Perfect Wedding Reception Venue

A couple of months ago, my younger sister got married in a beautiful ceremony at her church. Our father has pastored this rural, evangelical church for the past twenty-nine years. Therefore, this special place to both of us was the obvious right venue to have her wedding at. After the wedding ceremony, my parents hosted a reception in the church’s activity building. My sister even decorated this large building herself. Have you picked a venue for your wedding, but don’t know where to have your reception at? When looking for the right place to have this special event, consider your personality and the personality of your future mate. For instance, if you’re cowboy or a cowgirl, you probably wouldn’t enjoy a wedding reception at an upscale country club in town. On this blog, you will discover the best places to host a wedding reception at.

Ideas To Decorate Your Christmas Party Venue With Flair

by Virgil Woods

If you are planning to host a large-scale Christmas party, the first step to take is to pick the right venue. Make sure it's large enough to hold all your guests, and ask if you are able to decorate in the manner you would like. If you are given free rein to decorate and make your party one to remember, then here are some ideas for how to decorate your Christmas party venue with flair.

Outdoor Skating Rink

If you are lucky enough to have found a venue near an existing skating rink, then you could either rent it for the duration of your party, or if the guest list is small enough, have your guests take advantage of the rink during the party.

However, if you are able to, set up a temporary outdoor skating rink on the venue's property or close by. You can either have the rink be made of real or synthetic ice – there are companies that you can contact to create a temporary rink for you.

Guests will enjoy skating around the rink, and it gives a bit of a break to the indoor fun of dancing and dining, too.

Use Natural Decorations

Instead of simply using paper decorations or balloons to liven up the venue, decorate using natural sources. For example, you can use pine cones, holly berries, and small branches to make centerpieces on tables. You could have small pine trees flanking the room decorated with ornaments or simple fairy lights.

You could have tree boughs along the wall or over doorways and archways. There are many natural elements you could use to decorate your Christmas party venue.

Use Food Centerpieces

A unique way to decorate your tables is to use food centerpieces. For example, you could have cupcakes that have green icing shaped like a Christmas tree. You could also have brownies with strawberries and white icing on top to simulate Santa Claus. You could even have glass bowls filled with colorful Christmas candy in the center of the table.

They would be fun and colorful and will get people talking about your centerpieces. Also, guests can snack on the candy through the party or have a cupcake or brownie for themselves as well.

Hot Chocolate Station

One decoration that also doubles as a special event treat is to have a hot chocolate station. You could set it up like an old-time store with a tablecloth covering the station so that it looks like a building exterior or brick wall. You could have an old-fashioned cart here that looks like one you would find on the street selling chestnuts.

The hot chocolate station can give the event venue a warm and friendly feeling as well as being a place where your guests can actually get hot chocolate.
