The Perfect Wedding Reception Venue

A couple of months ago, my younger sister got married in a beautiful ceremony at her church. Our father has pastored this rural, evangelical church for the past twenty-nine years. Therefore, this special place to both of us was the obvious right venue to have her wedding at. After the wedding ceremony, my parents hosted a reception in the church’s activity building. My sister even decorated this large building herself. Have you picked a venue for your wedding, but don’t know where to have your reception at? When looking for the right place to have this special event, consider your personality and the personality of your future mate. For instance, if you’re cowboy or a cowgirl, you probably wouldn’t enjoy a wedding reception at an upscale country club in town. On this blog, you will discover the best places to host a wedding reception at.

Military Reunions: A Gathering Of Servicemen

by Virgil Woods

Military servicemen and women are important people who make up the fabric of the United States of America. Whether they've served in combat in previous wars or worked behind the scenes, US military members past and present have a special bond with each other. For veterans, reuniting with their fellow soldiers is an important part of their lives, as well as an important part of the healing process after battle. Holding military reunions across the country is an excellent way for ex-military personnel to reconnect with each other.

Why Reunions?

There are several reasons military members like to have reunions with their fellow countrymen. It can create a sense of support, patriotism, and friendship with each other that will last a lifetime. These reunions are also a way for them to have a good time, learn new things about their country and each other, and to unwind. Most reunions are held in a central location in various cities across the United States, and members and their families can reserve a hotel room at military reunion hotels and stay for as long as they like.

What Happens During Military Reunions?

For many groups, military related reunions involves several different activities where participants can get together and enjoy each others' company. In most cases, spouses and children are also welcome to join in the events. The reunion groups often host meals for everyone to enjoy together as well as tours and sightseeing of different landmarks. There may also be awards ceremonies or events recognizing the members' service to our country. In most cases, the date is set several months and even a year or longer in advance in order to ensure as many people as possible will be able to attend.

Where are the Reunions Held?

There are several different factors taken into consideration when choosing a location for a military reunion. These locations can change each time a reunion is scheduled, or they can vary depending on which organization is planning the reunion. Some things that factor into the location include:

  • The proximity to a major base or fort
  • A location where a battle may have taken place
  • A major city with a rich military history, full of local attractions and monuments
  • The location is voted on by the military members who plan to attend the reunion
  • Closeness to an officer's home or a famous military veteran's home town

No matter which location is chosen, the bond that is formed during these reunions is something each military member and their families will never forget.
