The Perfect Wedding Reception Venue

A couple of months ago, my younger sister got married in a beautiful ceremony at her church. Our father has pastored this rural, evangelical church for the past twenty-nine years. Therefore, this special place to both of us was the obvious right venue to have her wedding at. After the wedding ceremony, my parents hosted a reception in the church’s activity building. My sister even decorated this large building herself. Have you picked a venue for your wedding, but don’t know where to have your reception at? When looking for the right place to have this special event, consider your personality and the personality of your future mate. For instance, if you’re cowboy or a cowgirl, you probably wouldn’t enjoy a wedding reception at an upscale country club in town. On this blog, you will discover the best places to host a wedding reception at.

How To Ensure Your Corporate Lunch Catering Is Appropriate For All Attendees

by Virgil Woods

Whenever you have a corporate meeting, function, or event that lasts for long enough it is quite customary to assume that a meal will be included and generally that will be lunch. Corporate lunch catering is a whole industry in itself because of how common this requirement is for many businesses, but making sure you get it right is not as easy as it may seem. You cannot simply order something you like or would enjoy, you need to be far more pragmatic than that. Not many will remember a good lunch, but everyone will remember a bad corporate lunch experience, which is why you need to coordinate from early on with your catering company.

Meal Requirements

First things first, it is vital in today's day and age that you have special dietary options for everyone. If possible, ask everyone to fill out a dietary requirements card a few days in advance, unless you have all their details on file already. Vegetarians, vegans, allergies, gluten-free, and even just personal requests should all be accommodated wherever possible. This is the very first step from which you can then plan your entire lunch, so make sure to get it right or your corporate lunch catering company won't be able to do their job effectively.

Location

If you are at a corporate retreat or event then think about the location and any challenges it might pose. If it is outside and standing up, then self-contained food items like sandwiches, wraps, and so on are more advisable. If it is in a convention center or somewhere indoors then buffet catering is more acceptable. Wherever possible you want to be able to serve hot food, as that makes the guests feel like they are eating more of a meal and not simply having a snack. Always make sure there are plenty of seats, cutlery, and glasses for all, and when in doubt order more not less.

Multiple Courses

Multiple courses for a corporate lunch doesn't have to mean something extremely fancy like a ten-course tasting menu, but if you want to impress and make sure there is something for everyone then it is a good idea. Starting off with finger food, entrees and light snacks leading into the main meal which is followed up by small but delicious deserts is the perfect route to take and means that if someone doesn't like something in one of the three courses, there is likely to be something they will latch onto.
